JOB TITLE:

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and implements systems, policies, procedures, and documentation for IT resources.
  • Ensures compliance with all software licensing agreements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IT business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Recommends technological innovation to streamline functions and improve productivity.  
  • Ensures that workstations, operating systems, and software applications are operational.
  • Oversees IT strategic projects, including the procurement, development, and configuration of licensing and seed-to-sale tracking systems.
  • Oversees hardware and software maintenance agreement expenditures. 
  • Plans, directs, and monitors information service and telecommunications contracts and acquisitions.
  • Provides sound advice and recommendations to meet current and future technology needs while prioritizing and planning for competing needs within an annually fixed revenue structure.
  • Ensure technology standards and best practices are met, including compliance with various federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Supervise IT support services to ensure quality, responsiveness to user needs, and develop a continuous feedback loop for process improvement.
  • Conducting research to remain up-to-date and knowledgeable regarding industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of new processes and system alterations, as well as to analyze and improve upon technology standards across the organization to maintain a technological advantage for teaching and learning.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to demonstrate a flexible leadership style by being fair-minded, forward-thinking, competent, and inspiring while meeting the needs of a broad range of individuals and situations
  • Excellent communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence others, negotiate to a successful resolution and engage in effective problem-solving.
  • Ability to recognize and set priorities, and to use initiative and independent management decision-making.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related degree.
  • 1-3 years of previous experience in software development, networking, or other IT roles.
  • Proven experience as a CTO or similar leadership role.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Visual acuity sufficient to work at a computer screen frequently and throughout the day, near and far visual acuity, depth perception, color vision sufficient to recognize people, words, and numbers, including, but not limited to 20/20 vision, corrected or uncorrected.
  • Lifting up to twenty-five (25) pounds frequently, fifty (50) pounds on an occasional basis, and in excess of fifty (50) pounds with assistance.
  • Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to hear over the phone and carry on routine conversations.
