JOB TITLE:

  • Demand Planning Analyst

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and improve existing processes of data governance, data structures, and processes throughout the Demand Planning organization.
  • Collaborate in the development and maintenance of a forecasting model, leveraging both inventory and wholesale sales data.
  • Establish and monitor forecast accuracy and BIAS reporting for the assigned business, identify gaps, and work with Sales and internal supply chain teams to improve the KPIs for critical items.
  • Monitor and report on important changes in forecasts month over month versus previous forecast, operating plan and board commitment, and sales expectations.
  • Plan tasks and deliverables accurately, prioritize tasks, and adapt as needed based on changing priorities.
  • Collaborate with Product and Sales on any decisions associated with product de-listing, product life cycle integration into catalog, etc. as well as to understand historical, trend, and future strategic information that impacts the forecast, such as upcoming product transitions or introductions, or critical sales strategies.
  • Reconcile significant variances, define and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions. 
  • Monitor abnormal demand and take corrective action to prevent reoccurrence and avoid excessive inventory.
  • Support mitigation of inventory risk by auditing purchases on a regular basis.
  • Provide guidance to the purchasing team for ordering to understand lead times and develop creative strategies to enhance flexibility.
  • Prioritize and manage competing and changing objectives in support of both short- and long-term goals while maintaining stakeholder expectations.
  • Ensure and maintain data integrity, data management, and planning/item master parameters in planning/ERP systems.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain, or other relevant fields.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a demand planning/forecasting role.
  • Proven ability to drive cohesion and collaboration among many different people & functions.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and effectively manage workload to meet deadlines, while ensuring a high standard of quality.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and statistical knowledge.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate well with all levels of the organization.
  • Self-starter who is extremely results and detail-oriented.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This position requires frequent sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and operating a computer workstation.
  • Must have finger dexterity, and ability to use keyboard/ten-key.
  • This position may rarely require kneeling, bending, squatting.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Reach, stoop, and lift office files, records, or reports, typically weighing 20 pounds or less.
