DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a strategic and comprehensive business sales plan and manage all sales activities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Production, Operations, and other key areas to develop lead sources, expand the customer base, and ensure that product availability meets customer demand.
  • Provide leadership to the sales team while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high performance, and ethical behavior.
  • Work with customers to better understand their business needs and goals.
  • Create a sales organization environment that is focused on talent development and coaching to build a strong pipeline that will support the organization’s continued growth.
  • Lead training initiatives impacting the sales organization and provide stewardship of sales and sales management talent.
  • Provide input for the sales organization’s support budget. 
  • Proactively assess existing sales organization support investments, including those in technology, training, and administrative support. 
  • Ensure support investments yield productivity benefits consistent with established objectives.
  • Seek and create opportunities to expand business with current customers, identify further business needs, and develop/present solutions.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven successful sales experience.
  • Understanding of the general cannabis industry, products, and landscape.
  • Cannabis industry experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing techniques and best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen, with a passion for translating data into actionable strategies.
  • Skilled with ERP/CRM to document, enter, track, and monitor sales and inventory.
  • Other PC Skills for tasks such as creating reports, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must have finger dexterity, and ability to use keyboard/ten-key.
  • This position may rarely require kneeling, bending, squatting.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Reach, stoop, and lift office files, records, or reports, typically weighing 20 pounds or less.
  • Must have good vision and be able to operate a calculator, fax machine, telephone, copier, hand truck, hammer, screwdriver, and case cutter.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
