- Dispensary General Manager
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for overseeing daily operations of the dispensary.
- Ensure the dispensary’s compliance with security, inventory, and local and state regulations.
- Manage, supervise, and direct the activities of assigned staff, and make recommendations regarding hiring, discipline, termination, or advancement of employees.
- Implement dispensary policies and ensure staff follows best practices.
- Oversee and manage quality product inventory and financial records.
- Provide education and development for staff about medical cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates, and consumption mechanisms.
- Work with wholesalers to negotiate and procure an adequate supply of quality products.
- Fulfill staffing needs and coordinate scheduling.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of every product and strain in the store, as well as industry-wide product knowledge.
- Review the performance of other dispensary employees on a regular basis.
- Create budgets and forecast sales based on principles of retail business and experience.
- Actively manage inventory, recalls, customer service complaints, and pricing to meet cost and sales targets.
- Promote open feedback from retail staff, medical professional team, and marketing department.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience and background in the cannabis industry.
- Excellent people and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated track record in driving revenue and increasing store productivity.
- A sense of urgency, high energy, and hands-on approach.
- Associate’s degree – Bachelor’s degree preferred, and relevant experience.
- Previous leadership experience including hiring, coaching, and mentoring.
- Must attain required state licensure.
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must pass any and all required background checks.
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 30 pounds (100 pounds with assistance).
- Frequently required to stand, handle or feel, to speak, and to hear.
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
