JOB TITLE:

  • DOT Compliance Manager (Transportation / Supply Chain)

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the company’s subsidiaries to monitor compliance with Federal and State regulations including all driver, vehicle, and hazardous material-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance via training, data management, analysis, and regional reporting.
  • Work closely with the regions and all local DOT/law enforcement officers in matters related to citations and violations.
  • Be a subject matter expert for all DOT/CSA and hazardous material-related issues and questions. Additionally, be able to conduct random CMV inspections to access compliance.
  • Review and support internal and external audits and follow up if corrective actions are necessary.
  • Review and maintain driver qualification files for completeness and compliance. Conduct training of personnel maintaining driver qualification files.
  • Conduct driver and vehicle audits as needed throughout the company. Review driver motor vehicle records (MVRs) as needed and provide subject matter expert advice on violations noted on the records.
  • Identify regions with poor performance indicators as reported by FMCSA and internal key performance indicators. 
  • Provide guidance and oversee all communications related to the reporting of FMCSA scores and progress to the regions and upper management.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree and/or state patrol/ DOT Law Enforcement experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience performing USDOT/FMCSA driver/vehicle roadside inspections and possess an in-depth knowledge of hazardous materials regulations and enforcement.
  • Prior experience with drug & alcohol policies and procedures.
  • Prior accident investigation and crash reconstruction certification.
  • Prior experience in writing policies and procedures for compliance with USDOT/FMCSA regulations.
  • Prior experience and certification in weight and measurements of vehicles.
  • Success in managing and coaching to ensure Hours of service, DOT maintenance, and Driver Qualification programs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office. 
  • Proficiency in the US DOT web-based Data Systems.
  • Able to work independently for long periods without direct supervision and be able to keep supervisors informed of status and progress.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater).
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions.
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise).
