JOB TITLE:
- Engineering Manager (Controlled Environment Agriculture)
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages and trains an engineering team and coordinates activities of the engineering department to design, process, project, develop, produce, improve, and test components, products, systems, and services.
- Allocates resources as necessary to support production and service activities related to equipment design, manufacturing, reliability, and troubleshooting.
- Works on or serves as a resource on projects requiring advanced knowledge of a particular field of specialization.
- Plans and establishes engineering schedules and follows up performance against estimates.
- Manages the development of material selection standards.
- Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
- May direct field testing of products and systems performed by field staff.
- Initiates cost reduction proposals from other sources, compiles appropriate information, makes recommendations for action, and checks on results obtained.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and objectives regarding processes, initiatives, and projects.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology or a related field.
- 6+ years experience in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- 4+ years experience in Design and Development.
- A combination of education and experience may be acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree if the applicant possesses the skills and knowledge to perform the duties of the position.
- Experience in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in SolidWorks.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to bend, sit, and walk.
- Must be able to see and hear.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to travel up to 25%.
