JOB TITLE:

  • Environmental Health/Safety Manager

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of corporate-wide safety programs such as Hazard Communication, Emergency Response, and other OSHA safety compliance programs.
  • Advises functional areas regarding safety protocols and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Completes OSHA-required reporting of injuries and assists with response to OSHA inquiries and/or investigations.
  • Analyze safety data to identify injury/incident trends and implements processes or programs to reduce and/or eliminate future occurrences.
  • Assist Retail team members with all safety concerns from the field.
  • Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant worker safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP regulations, local and state governing bodies, OSHA, and other relevant worker safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety, and Health, or a related field is required.
  • 3+ years of previous experience in comprehensive workplace safety and compliance programs, particularly in the Retail field.
  • Extensive knowledge of food safety, security, and GMP guidelines.
  • Previous commercial cannabis growing experience preferred.
  • Well-versed in OSHA Regulations 29 CFR 1910.
  • Up-to-date on the latest local and state regulations and guideline changes.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be highly detail-oriented.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Must pass any and all required background checks.
