JOB TITLE:

  • Human Resources Manager

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides administrative support to meet business, recruiting, and employment needs.
  • Participates in HR and recruiting coordination, creating, and updating job descriptions, social media postings, and scheduling interviews.
  • Ensures the accurate collection, processing, and recording of the company’s administrative tracking of training, benefits, and performance evaluation.
  • Assists with payroll functions for staff and clients including preparing and processing payroll; enters data and payroll information into the HRIS system; fixes errors.
  • Supports benefit administration by ensuring employees are offered benefits in a timely manner; reconciles benefit statements.
  • Responsible for managing employee relations and inquiries and maintaining a stellar employee experience.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotion opportunities.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Keeps records of benefits plan participation such as insurance and 401k, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of department and services performed.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older. 
  • Must pass any and all required background checks.
  • Associate’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience required.
  • Should have a basic understanding of cannabis laws, rules, and regulations set forth by the state.
  • Must understand and implement the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the company.
  • Ability to listen well and communicate effectively to various audiences, especially with direct supervisors and other co-workers.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work, influence, problem-solve, and communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.
  • Must be approved by the state badging agency to work in the cannabis industry.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequently required to stand, handle or feel, to speak, and to hear. 
  • Occasionally required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to thirty-five (35) pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close (proximity) vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
