JOB TITLE:
- Intake Specialist
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- First point of contact for all employees, patrons, deliveries, inspections, and other visitors to the dispensary.
- Screen all persons prior to entry, to ensure that they are qualified to enter the dispensary.
- Greeting and checking in qualified patients and caregivers.
- Conducting the patient intake process.
- Provide the highest level of customer service while interacting with patients and customers on-site and over the phone by having an optimistic attitude and welcoming personality.
- Process in-patients and customers by validating identification and entering information securely into our POS system.
- Significant data entry and document management.
- Provide administrative assistance as needed.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development as needed.
- Coordinate with the appropriate department personnel regarding any questions and issues.
- Maintain patient files, records, and other information with a high degree of accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent working knowledge of Windows-based EMR software applications.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding phone and in-person customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to make quick decisions and solve tough problems.
- Works well independently, can manage multiple priorities, and is solutions-oriented.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and work roles.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and the internet; comfortable learning/using dispensary software.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Associate’s Degree in Business or the equivalent in work experience preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass any and all required background checks.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The employee is frequently required to use hands to type, handle, and feel.
- The employee is regularly required to walk, sit, talk, and hear.
- The employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach.
- The employee must have the ability to occasionally safely lift and/or move a minimum of 25 lbs.
