JOB TITLE:

  • Inventory Control Specialist

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory in their dispensary.
  • Conduct weekly cycle counts of finished goods, packaged goods, personal protection equipment, and miscellaneous facility items in electronic systems.
  • Ensures bulk material & finished goods are physically & electronically accurate within the inventory system.
  • Maintains accurate records of inventory changes, including transfers and cycle counts.
  • Identifies count discrepancies for escalation during check-in and weekly count processes.
  • Maintain and update inventory records in ERP & Metrc systems.
  • Work with Shipping, Receiving, Supply Chain Operations, Finance, and Buying to ensure the best information flows through to provide transparency and accuracy.
  • Reconcile Inventory on a weekly basis and report inconsistencies to Management.
  • Performs all daily activities necessary to maintain effective inventory management procedures.
  • Coordinates quarterly physical inventory procedures.
  • Works with Loss Prevention to implement internal strategies to secure products.
  • Manage returns/waste process to ensure all damaged/defective product is accounted for and properly handled by either waste, return to vendor, or returning to stock.
  • Maintains records to accurately track quarantined products and provide disposition in accordance with internal processes.
  • Supervises the inventory quality and accuracy assurance programs, including weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Conduct search to locate products within the system, as necessary.
  • Investigate when there are discrepancies between the actual product and records.
  • Coordinates with Logistics, Buying, and Management to establish cut-off dates.
  • Performs duties as instructed by management.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 1-year experience in a similar position working within a distribution setting.
  • Computer applications experience using MS Office and WMS systems.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills.
  • Excellent mathematical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to set context, simplify complex concepts, and drive diverse teams to decision and action.
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • Deadline-driven and detail-oriented.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening.
  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater).
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions.
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise).
