JOB TITLE:
- Laboratory Manager
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees all lab operations and staff.
- Uphold the highest standard of safety and compliance within the lab and enforce the same standard among direct reports.
- Responsible for the execution of manufacturing SOPS, Work Instructions, and Manufacturing Formulas.
- Produce distillate, wax, shatter, diamonds, sauce, and crumble products.
- Provide proficient testing measures for all types of products created.
- Provide and follow proper disposal of waste procedures for all types of products.
- Implement lab safety training and testing.
- Reports all discrepancies, malpractices, and problems to Directors to remain compliant.
- Maintaining analytical equipment (i.e. HPLC, GC-MSMS, LCMSMS, ICP-MS, qPCR analytical balances, autoclave, centrifuge, biological safety cabinets, fume hoods, etc.)
- Sample preparation, sample analysis, and data review.
- Inventory management.
- Responsible for proper training of all lab staff.
- Responsible for manufacturing schedule adherence.
- Accurately track production and use of raw materials utilized in producing our finished goods.
- Oversee third-party and in-house product testing.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of experience in a cannabis extraction environment.
- 2+ years working in a lab environment.
- experience with HPLC-PDA/UV, HPLC-MS/MS, GC-MS, and/or ICP-MS.
- Knowledge of lab safety procedures and protocol.
- Mechanical aptitude and/or comfortable troubleshooting machines and equipment.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively multitask.
- Strong management and communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to train employees in all processes.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially MS Excel.
- A bachelor’s Degree in biology, chemistry, environmental studies, or related sciences is preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
- Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
- Must be able to pass a background check in accordance with state regulations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk as needed.
- Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, and crouch to access equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Close visual acuity is needed for viewing screens and fine print.
