JOB TITLE:

  • Loss Prevention Manager

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop analytical procedures that identify opportunities for gross margin recapture.
  • Monitor transactional records to identify potential unauthorized transactions.
  • Research return and other customer concession exception reporting.
  • Work cross-functionally with Retail, Security, and IT teams to document internal controls and provide recommendations and system improvements to reduce fraud risk.
  • Keep up to date with fraud trends and update policy, procedure, and transaction monitoring results.
  • Perform other special projects and investigations as assigned.
  • Partner with field management and Security teams during investigations related to fraud, diversion, and theft cases.
  • Coordinate investigations of both internal and external theft in retail store locations via exception reports, CCTV review, and interviewing employees as deemed necessary.
  • Conduct weekly/monthly store assessments, which include educational interaction with employee staff and developing partnerships with key positions in efforts to establish and foster an open line of communication.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field.
  • 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in retail operations.
  • 4+ years of experience in a related field such as internal and external audit experience in a consulting or public accounting firm, corporate loss prevention department, corporate internal audit function, or consulting experience.
  • Preferred experience in the cannabis industry.
  • In-depth understanding of Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Proficiency in advanced elements of Microsoft Excel, SQL, ACL, Power Bi or Tableau, Access, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to lead meetings, including presentation development and speaking in public settings and private settings with senior stakeholders.
  • Possess a high level of maturity, discretion, tact, judgment, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Must pass any and all required background checks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions.
