JOB TITLE:

  • National Account Manager

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with existing customers and seeks prospective customers through the use of sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • May travel from time to time to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talk with customers by phone or virtual meetings.
  • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes saleable features.
  • Estimates the date of delivery to the customer, based on knowledge of the Company’s and manufacturer’s delivery schedules.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
  • Manages inventory issues with each customer.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into a computer database.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
  • Support internal stock forecasting for key accounts including updating forecasts monthly/quarterly, and highlighting major changes which will impact stock levels.
  • Provide input and support on any ad-hoc projects as directed by the line manager and/or more senior company members.
  • Update and communicate standardized retail reports, including weekly sales reports to be provided for sales meetings each week. Distribute as relevant.
  • Ensure retailer product information is accurate and up to date at all points of the supply chain (e.g. new products, prices, discontinuations, etc.).
  • Support the Marketing Team in developing customized programs, strategies, and tactical marketing/sales growth initiatives.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with multiple customer groups, stakeholders, and a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong project management and organization skills to manage a number of priorities.
  • Experience with SAP systems is a plus.
  • High levels of attention to detail.
  • Strong level of commercial acumen.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Expert in all Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Experience in the cannabis/alcohol industry is considered an asset.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. 
  • This employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or feet, and reach with hands and arms.
  • May be required to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
