JOB TITLE:
- Onboarding Specialist (Cannabis Retailer)
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists HR and hiring manager with the applicant tracking process, including posting positions, troubleshooting, and resolving applicant inquiries.
- Maintain applicant tracking system
- Designs and composes documentation for the hiring process.
- Develops employment advertisements, determining ad placement and schedules in appropriate media.
- Reviews current processes to determine if they are efficient and effective. Develops and participates in the implementation of new systems, and processes, and makes recommendations for improvements.
- Coordinates the corporate New Employee Orientation (NEO) program.
- Assist with new-hire procedures: including creating offer letters, organizing employee orientation, creating new employee files, administering employee handbooks, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted to appropriate persons
- Responsible for group onboarding events to ensure targeted employee groups are efficiently on-boarded with all information and system updates completed in a timely manner.
- Responsible for quality control and timely processing of all pre-employment and new-hire documentation.
- Abide by company-enforced HR processes and current employment laws and regulations
- Support any other recruitment and/or onboarding projects.
- Other duties may be assigned.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s or associate’s degree in human resources management or a related field.
- Experience as an onboarding specialist or in a similar HR role.
- Experience with HRIS and MS Office, especially MS Excel.
- Sound knowledge of all HR processes (e.g. recruitment, onboarding, training, talent management, etc.)
- Good working knowledge of HR practices and labor legislation.
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.
- Looks for ways to improve inefficiencies with ongoing tasks/projects.
- Ability to build partnerships and work with employees at all levels of the organization.
