JOB TITLE:

  • Paralegal

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists the Legal and Compliance team to ensure compliance with all applicable state, county, and municipal laws, ordinances, and regulations, including the specific cannabis regulations for that state.
  • Works independently to assist lawyers and provide support to the lawyers with transactional matters.
  • Assists in the application process for entering new markets and assists in drafting and editing license applications.
  • Organize and maintain company contracts and legal databases.
  • Calendars important dates and deadlines and takes ownership to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Provides legal and non-legal administrative support to the legal and corporate finance team.
  • Assists with the management and maintenance of the company’s corporate records, including contract and legal databases.
  • Oversees all legal entities, including formations, dissolution, and annual filings.
  • Responds to requests for information from internal and external personnel in a timely manner.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Paralegal Certificate, Associate’s Degree, or equivalent experience. 
  • Bachelor level preferred.
  • Experience with handling highly confidential and protected information.
  • Ability to read, develop and complete legal documents with strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent organization, analytical, prioritization, attention to detail, communication (written/verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate complex information in ways that are easily understood by others.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Willingness to perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Able to use a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Able to move about a typical office, manufacturing, warehouse, or retail environment.
  • Able to perform general office managerial and administrative activities.
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
