JOB TITLE:

  • Physician

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides primary health care for the patients.
  • Provides medical specialty care and treatment for the patient as recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
  • Identify and implement best practices within the team to support chronic disease and pain management.
  • Verify that patients suffer from a state-approved qualifying condition for medical marijuana.
  • Be an advocate for patients seeking to use medical marijuana as part of their treatment plan.
  • Provide clinical evaluations and certifications to new/returning qualified patients of all ages for medical cannabis.
  • Provide a recommended treatment plan for qualifying patients.
  • Maintain notes and medical records in the EMR system (all electronic).
  • Review medical records or medical history. 
  • Review current medications and allergies.
  • Inform patients of the risks associated with medical cannabis use.
  • Remaining up to date on state medical cannabis program regulations.
  • Review patient’s medical records at the patient’s request 
  • Conduct a thorough physical examination of the patient.
  • Provide or plan follow-up care and document these activities in the patient’s medical record.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Medical License (Required)
  • US work authorization (Required)
  • Doctorate (Preferred)
  • BC/BE (Preferred)
  • Unrestricted DEA license
  • Registered Physician in the State
  • Passion for helping patients finding natural solutions to ailments through cannabis treatment.
  • Proven experience as a physician.
  • Broad knowledge of common medication, side effects, and contraindications.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medical best practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Respect for patient confidentiality.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, occasionally move about inside the office to access files or office equipment, operate computers and other digital productivity devices (i.e., cell phones), and operate and monitor various medical equipment.
  • Some heavy lifting is expected. 
  • Exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally may be required to turn or move patients.
