JOB TITLE:

  • Production Planner

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for developing and managing production line schedules, tracking production progress to plan, identifying factors that affect schedule adherence, and coordinating planning process improvements.
  • Responsible for meeting delivery requirements, planning for the best use of the organization’s productive capacity, and managing inventory levels.
  • Support implementation of process changes, and system enhancements, proactively analyzing business needs, executing short, mid, and long-term plans to meet business objectives.
  • Responsible for the weekly planning cycle which includes the analysis of the order and demand input, development of a weekly capacity-constrained production plan by location, coordination of corrective/preventive actions, and communication.
  • Release and implement production schedules to assigned plant areas and monitor scheduled production for adherence to plan.
  • Coordinate and organize material requirements and purchase orders when necessary.
  • Plan and prioritize operations and distribution to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
  • Interact with production management daily to resolve issues regarding manufacturing plan execution.
  • Manage finished goods and work-in-process inventories to stock targets, ensuring the production schedule maintains product availability. 
  • Identify constraints that may lead to product shortages and coordinate contingency plans.
  • Provide maximum visibility to the production plan, replenishment needs, and potential issues by communicating across all functions to resolve issues that impact schedule performance.
  • Investigate and resolve problem situations affecting scheduled production.
  • Conduct monthly production risk analysis and action plan.
  • Participates and/or coordinates required testing/validation of ERP system enhancements and fixes, creating and/or executing the test cases including problem determination and resolution.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other related discipline is required.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience as a Production Planner is required.
  • Complete understanding and application of ERP principles, concepts, practices, and standards are required.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn state-specific cannabis laws and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional planning, time management, and organizational skills are a must.
  • Proficient in advanced analytics, including preparation and manipulation of large data sets.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables and formulas.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications. 
  • Experience and familiarity with ERP / MRP and Planning systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Ability to pass a national background check per state cannabis regulations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The position must occasionally lift, push, pull and /or move up to 25 pounds. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, this position is occasionally required to sit and regularly use hand(s) to handle, grasp, feel, and or touch. 
  • This position is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. 
  • This position is required to speak and listen regularly.
