JOB TITLE:

  • QA Associate

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs finished product sampling and inspection.
  • Performs equipment and product line clearances before production runs.
  • Performs in-process verifications to ensure product weights, correct labeling & packaging.
  • Conduct regular cleaning swab tests to ensure equipment and room meet specifications.
  • Monitor and verify process critical control points during production.
  • Review batch production records for compliance with good production practices (GPP) and good documentation practices (GDP).
  • Assist in the collection and preparation of product samples for laboratory testing.
  • Assist with ongoing development, revision, and implementation of standard operating procedures.
  • Compile end-of-shift summary report for QAP review.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the Cannabis Act and Regulations.
  • Conducts all duties in compliance with safety rules, applicable SOPs, and other applicable guidelines.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science and/or technical diploma in biology, chemistry, food science, or equivalent quality field.
  • 2+ years of Quality Assurance experience within a regulated environment (food, cannabis, pharmaceutical).
  • Highly desirable: healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, consumer packaged goods (food), cannabis. Highly desirable: FDA, HACCP, SQF experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills.
  • Utilizes critical thinking to troubleshoot issues, work collaboratively with a team to brainstorm solutions, and implement improvement solutions.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks required for an 8-hour shift period, including but not limited to standing, walking, and sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to work in environments with variable temperature (indoor and outdoor) and humidity, and variable lighting.
  • Ability to wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to medical gloves, safety eyewear, face masks, etc.
  • Ability to work in an environment that uses cleaning products including, but not limited to, Simple Green and Isopropyl Alcohol.
  • This position may involve exposure to cannabis/plant materials and is therefore not likely suitable for anyone that may suffer from allergies to cannabis or plant pollen, or for anyone that experiences medical issues such as asthma and hay fever as a result of exposure to cannabis/plant materials.
