JOB TITLE:

  • Quality Control Supervisor

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate quality policies and procedures to all levels of the organization – from entry-level to executive.
  • Performs in-process and finished product sampling and inspection.
  • Ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors; investigate report, debrief, and take or direct corrective action as required in the event of an incident.
  • Ensures that procedures are followed, efficiently and consistently in the laboratory and production environment.
  • Performs laboratory functions such as testing, equipment management, and test product development.
  • Participates in investigation activities associated with problems or failures within the overall quality assurance systems, to analyze root cause, propose appropriate corrective action, and to document with deviation reporting tools.
  • Provide general laboratory support, such as establishing, reviewing, and updating SOPs, attending meetings, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Interpret test results and assess compliance.
  • Inspects packaged orders to ensure correct content and quantities, as deemed necessary.
  • Reviews batch manufacturing records, logbooks, test results, and ensures good documentation practices are followed.
  • Performs GMP facility inspections.
  • Participates in corporate Quality internal audits as assigned.
  • Collaborates with operational functions to troubleshoot manufacturing and production defects, CAPA, and customer complaints.
  • Consolidates technical information from operations and manufacturing personnel and prepares written investigation and CAPA reports which may be provided to state regulators.
  • Monitors compliance to established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) guidance such as BRC, SQF, and FSSC 22000.
  • Facilitates creation of and/or updates to product safety plans or product process parameters.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 21 years of age (or per state regulations).
  • Experience in the cannabis industry.
  • Must pass all required background checks.
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Associate’s Degree with equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control function.
  • Demonstrates a high sense of urgency and proactive thinking.
  • Detail oriented and self-directed in the execution of tasks required.
  • Strong critical thinking and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Keen learner, who continually strives to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Motivated team player with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Must possess a willingness to learn with a positive attitude
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Highly desirable: FDA, HACCP, GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) such as BRC, SQF, and FSSC 22000.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to speak and listen. 
  • Frequently required to stand or sit for long periods, walk constantly. 
  • Use hands or feet, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
