DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and analyze complex regulatory requirements imposed by state and local marijuana regulations.
  • Draft summaries of regulations, questions for facility audits, action items to teach businesses to resolve non-compliance, and other work products associated with legal requirements for cannabis businesses.
  • Research potential opportunities for cannabis business expansion both within the state and nationally.
  • Read and understand legislation and regulations to provide summaries.
  • Represent the company while contacting municipalities as needed to determine where they are in their process of allowing cannabis businesses.
  • Monitor city and county ordinances for changes in cannabis rules.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors in a related field such as planning/land use, public policy, or related functions.
  • Ability to analyze and understand legislation.
  • Ability to accurately and concisely summarize ordinances and city council discussions.
  • Basic understanding of local and state law-making processes.
  • Basic understanding of the structure of local municipalities.
  • Basic understanding of the permitting requirements for cannabis businesses
  • Strong reading comprehension.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Power User of Google Suite (Drive, Doc, and Sheets).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
