- Regulatory Analyst
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and analyze complex regulatory requirements imposed by state and local marijuana regulations.
- Draft summaries of regulations, questions for facility audits, action items to teach businesses to resolve non-compliance, and other work products associated with legal requirements for cannabis businesses.
- Research potential opportunities for cannabis business expansion both within the state and nationally.
- Read and understand legislation and regulations to provide summaries.
- Represent the company while contacting municipalities as needed to determine where they are in their process of allowing cannabis businesses.
- Monitor city and county ordinances for changes in cannabis rules.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors in a related field such as planning/land use, public policy, or related functions.
- Ability to analyze and understand legislation.
- Ability to accurately and concisely summarize ordinances and city council discussions.
- Basic understanding of local and state law-making processes.
- Basic understanding of the structure of local municipalities.
- Basic understanding of the permitting requirements for cannabis businesses
- Strong reading comprehension.
- High attention to detail.
- Power User of Google Suite (Drive, Doc, and Sheets).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
