JOB TITLE:

  • Security Officer

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all visitors to the building produce valid identification.
  • Monitor CCTV systems to ensure building security.
  • Review camera footage as needed when requested by management.
  • This person will coordinate vehicle and equipment service, maintenance, and inspections, including onboard camera and GPS systems.
  • Maintain primary communication with drivers and the security team throughout the transportation process and ensure required recorded monitoring during the transportation process.
  • Be the primary contact for any transportation-related coordination activities.
  • Assist the transportation team and drive as needed.
  • Maintain, document, and update any standard operating procedures as needed for the transportation process.
  • Serve as training officer to new security staff.
  • Performing security patrols by company or client vehicle and/or on foot.
  • Protect property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, trespassing, fire, and accidents.
  • Crowd control in public areas.
  • Neutralize situations calmly with tact and common sense.
  • Maintain open communication with facility staff on policies, procedures, and processes
  • Train personnel in physical security procedures and the use of physical security equipment.
  • Document access control change requests by maintaining an up-to-date and accurate change log.
  • Assist in testing of installed equipment and provide basic programming such as adding card readers, cameras, and alarm points to existing systems.
  • Remain vigilant in identifying problems such as unauthorized personnel, alarms indicating fire, or any other potential safety hazards to employees or visitors to the facility.
  • Monitor and perform follow-up investigations on all incident reports filed by security staff.
  • Abide by the Private Security Professional Code of Ethics in upholding professionalism and integrity of the industry.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Minimum 21 years of age (or per state regulations).
  • Must pass all required background checks.
  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
  • Knowledge of proper reconciliation procedures and proficient in mathematical skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory management, controls, and procedures
  • Solid customer relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Ability to adhere to and maintain delivery schedule and route.
  • Ability to navigate heavily trafficked cities and roadways in a safe and timely manner.
  • Prior military, police, safety, and or security detail experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in First Aid and the use of AED equipment to render aid in an emergency situation.
  • Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule based on the demands of the business.
  • Strong attention to detail and computer literacy.
  • Critical thinking skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly sit, walk, or stand for long periods of time, pull/push, carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and grasp.
  • Frequently reach, taste, or smell.
  • Occasionally climb, stoop/crouch, crawl, carry up to 25 pounds, talk, or hear.
  • Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses, and differentiate between colors (no color blindness).
