JOB TITLE:
- Senior Scientist Translational Medicine
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the implementation of biomarker sample collections in dermatology clinical studies through cross-functional collaboration with clinical development, clinical operations, and program teams.
- Identifying and developing methods and models to evaluate pharmacodynamic biomarkers and mechanism of action of therapeutics being developed by the company.
- Manage external vendors for biomarker sample collection and testing.
- Delivers high-quality biomarker strategies for target engagement, pharmacodynamic endpoints, and patient enrichment/selection.
- Participation in cross-functional subteams focused on generating data to provide a deep scientific understanding of the mechanism of action of therapeutics in development.
- Drive and ensure the quality of Translational Medicine clinical study reports, data reviews, interpretations, presentations, scientific publications, and recommendations to teams.
- Applies best regulatory practices and drug development precedent to assigned programs.
- Supports the development of regulatory documents for filings and agency meetings
- Reviews and interprets scientific knowledge of competitor landscape (molecule/indication).
- Proactive identification of issues/problems and recommends solutions.
- Participate with team members to prepare abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations for external meetings.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D. in immunology, cell biology, or a related field.
- 6+ years of relevant translational experience in the industry setting.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical clinical development and ability to effectively apply technical principles, theories, and concepts to clinical drug development.
- Strong background in collecting samples, analyzing, and integrating large flow cytometry, proteomic, transcriptomic, and genomic data sets.
- A strong understanding of immunology and inflammation is required.
- Effective in communication (verbal/written/presentation) and cross-functional team collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and competing demands in a changing work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high volumes of work in a fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects, and to deliver high-quality work according to tight timelines.
- Detail-oriented with effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Significant experience and understanding of medical terminology.
- Experience with SharePoint or similar work management software/systems is highly preferred.
