JOB TITLE:

  • Tax Associate

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and maintain the company’s sales & use tax return processes and filing requirements utilizing Thomson Reuters OneSource.
  • Responsible for preparing the company’s property tax filings, and owning other non-income tax areas.
  • Assists the Tax Manager with the day-to-day operations of the Tax Department.
  • Supports the tax manager with the preparation and review of Federal and State income tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments.
  • Assists with the preparation of various tax-related projects with outside tax advisors.
  • Provides recommendations for creating and implementing tax processes, procedures, and tax solutions.

  • Performs various tax technical research and ad-hoc requests as needed.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • A total of 2+ years of experience in corporate and partnership taxation and financial statement income tax provisions.
  • 1-3 years of experience in the Tax Department of a public CPA accounting firm or public company.
  • Experience with Sales & Use Tax is a plus, but not required.
  • Broad knowledge and experience of tax principles and standards in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
  • The ability to be agile and work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize, and perform work efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite a plus) demonstrated high proficiency with Microsoft suite in general and Excel specifically.
  • Highly organized and proactive, with follow-through on commitments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic culture, with the ability to take initiative and be hands-on.
