JOB TITLE:

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead trade marketing annual planning & determine priority activities that will have the greatest impact on the cannabis shopper to drive traffic to stores and conversion.
  • Develop and implement a merchandising strategy that supports new marketing and business development initiatives for the portfolio. 
  • Align national brand objectives with regional trade and sales requirements.
  • Manage program execution and the trade marketing budget.
  • Develop and implement new initiatives to drive brand visibility and gain market share within regulatory frameworks.
  • Own the development of the high-level guiding strategy as well as the execution of shopper/trade marketing programs.
  • Develop an annual activation calendar at a brand and account level while leveraging insights developed by the consumer & shopper insights teams.
  • Provide brand teams with retailer and shopper feedback and insights, in partnership with shopper insights, to influence national campaigns.
  • Drive support for new product launches through the commercial planning process and articulate needed information from the brand teams to develop activation plans and point of sale.
  • Establish a procurement and inventory management process for all Marketing-related Sales assets (below-the-line focus).
  • Maintain ownership of the trade budget, including trade tools, activations, and brand-specific customer investment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of Trade or Field Marketing experience.
  • Cannabis or alcohol experience preferred.
  • Strong experience working directly with a buyer and/or marketing lead at a retailer.
  • Significant experience in project managing with cross-functional teams and developing work back schedules.
  • Proven skill in project planning, execution, and evaluation.
  • Strong communication skills in written, verbal, visual, and numerical formats.
  • Strong analytical skills to drive consumer and customer insights into commercial action and execution.
  • Ability to manage internal relationships with stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Community Engagement, and Retail.
  • BA in trade or marketing, business, or sales.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
