DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Optimize and implement acquisition and go-to-market strategies and processes, based on proven methodologies of measurable success, with a team of Account Executives, Account Managers, Onboarding Specialists, and Retail Specialists.
  • Take the lead in presenting the distribution service program to identify sales targets, drive increased portfolio reach, and diversify the company’s offering to the retail market.
  • Partner with the Director of Human Resources to establish compensation plans, training, and sales incentive programs that enable sales staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives.
  • Design, implement, and provide ongoing detailed and accurate sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting tools.
  • Maintain key customer relationships while developing and implementing strategies to expand the Company’s customer base.
  • Oversee and manage all sales team activities and the client lifecycle.
  • Analyze pipeline and lead data, deliver periodic reporting to the sales and marketing teams providing key business insights: typical reporting relates to Demand Generation, Pipeline Forecast and Trends, Conversion Rates, Target Account, Market Segmentation, Win/Loss.
  • Report on key KPIs related to the lead and the opportunity waterfall to implement a consistent closed-loop between marketing and sales.
  • Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity and provide feedback to the company’s leadership team and other company functions.
  • Build a collaborative relationship with Marketing to create digital marketing strategies that fill the pipeline with sales-qualified leads.
  • Create strong relationships with key client stakeholders at both senior and mid-management levels.
  • Work with the CEO to understand the company vision and align that with the sales team’s execution.
  • Understand and analyze the competitive landscape and market trends within cannabis and hemp.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field or related experience.
  • 5+ years working as a sales manager or director within software or enterprise SaaS sales.
  • Demonstrated success in exceeding sales quota and acquisition targets.
  • Proven ability to build, lead and scale sales teams across multiple markets.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to develop high-performance sales teams.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills – both internal and external.
  • Established a network of senior-level contacts within the cannabis industry.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload across multiple simultaneous tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an established presence of leadership as a clear and transparent communicator.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams, for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must be proficient at analyzing data, building reporting, and making strategic recommendations based on data and trends.
