Job Description:

  • The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the efficient and successful operation of the entire cannabis manufacturing operation.
  • The position ensures safety in the workplace and oversees the safe functioning of the operation through a team of managers and supervisors.
  • The position oversees the successful functioning of onsite production, quality assurance & control, sales, accounting, R&D, sourcing, traceability, regulatory standards, and human resources departments.
  • In addition, the General Manager ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials, and machines.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prioritizing worker safety and maintaining a safe operational site.
  • Deploying policy related to lean manufacturing, quality control and assurance, cost-efficiency, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls, and overall plant performance.
  • Facilitating employee relations through effective communication, coaching, training, and development.
  • Providing leadership for problem resolution while supporting harmonious team relationships.
  • Determining personnel and production and order scheduling.
  • Interfacing with Sales Staff on client and order scheduling and changes.
  • Forecasting and managing material requirements to meet manufacturing needs.
  • Ensuring compliance standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
  • Managing staffing to create an optimally operating facility.
  • Maintaining 100% compliance with MA cannabis traceability requirements.
  • Identifying, communicating, and driving the implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.
  • Overseeing and maintaining Metrc traceability software including but not limited to records of all traceability manifests, invoices, sales orders, and test results.
  • Overseeing a system of error avoidance for material orders and delivery.
  • Ensuring that the necessary testing and QC and QA procedures are scheduled for both 3rd Party Laboratory testing and internal testing to meet production deadlines.
  • Supervising Production Staff and ensuring that orders are completed to meet estimates.
  • Establishing a rigorous training and continued education system for staff.
  • Budgeting and approving all purchasing of equipment and parts.

EDUCATION and KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicant must be at least 21 years of age, be able to pass a background check.
  • Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft and/or Google systems.
  • Prior managerial experience in a manufacturing environment (4+ years).
  • Prior food GMP, CAPA, and QA and QC systems experience (2+ years).
  • An understanding of cannabis processing and the manufacturing of cannabinoid products.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and behaviors.
  • Exhibits a demand-for-excellence mentality.

Pay: $85,000 to $110,000 per year based on qualifications.
