Job Description:

  • The Manufacturing Manager (MM) oversees all aspects of the extraction, refinement, formulation, and packaging of cannabis plant materials into final formulated products.
  • It is expected that the MM understands all steps and equipment employed and can serve as a final resource for all operational and technical questions.
  • The MM is expected to maintain a high degree of organization, tracking batches as they move through the processing queue, and providing the required documentation to remain in compliance with both state and local regulations.
  • This includes oversight of all SOPs and BOPs, as well as using traceability software to track product flow as it relates to all orders.
  • Additionally, the MM will oversee all employees associated with the processing operation.
  • They are expected to oversee employee shifts, manage employee time on various equipment, facilitate training, administer human resource operations, and compliance testing requirements.
  • The MM coordinates the efforts of the Manufacturing Technicians, Packaging Department, and Sales Manager to ensure compliant and expeditious delivery of products to retail outlets.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Managing all employees in the extraction, refinement, formulation, and packaging operation(s).
  • Tracking batches through the process, ensuring that product passes through each step quickly.
  • Upkeeping the track and trace software for all products and processing workflows.
  • Fulfill orders according to sales demand.
  • Coordinating with Sales Manager & Logistics to schedule processing and production cycles.
  • Maintaining SOPs, BOPs, EOPs, etc… to ensure compliance and process improvement.
  • Manage batch label printing templates.
  • Scheduling and monitoring QA and QC testing.
  • General project management and oversight.
  • Shift and human resources management to ensure necessary staffing.
  • Identifying necessary equipment and supplies to be purchased.

EDUCATION and KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelors or equivalent degree required.
  • Understanding of Cannabis processing and refinement operations.
  • Strong knowledge of state-specific cannabis laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Fluency with traceability software and tracking of cannabis orders.
  • Mechanical or laboratory experience (strongly preferred).
  • Prior experience in manufacturing management.
  • Proficiency with computers including all MS Office and any specialized software to be used in the operation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lean manufacturing background required (Preferably pharmaceutical or food industries).
  • Prior managerial experience preferred (+1-3 years).
  • GMP experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cannabis processing and the manufacturing of cannabinoid products.
  • Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft and/or Google systems.
  • Applicant must be at least 21 years of age, be able to pass a background check.

Pay: $65,000 to $95,000 per year based on qualifications.
