DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement marketing and communications campaigns and strategies and monitor their success.
  • Determine strategic communications campaigns that will help further organizational goals.
  • Create internal communications protocols and initiatives that will foster employee morale.
  • Oversee the creation of marketing and communications collateral to ensure that it is consistent with the organization’s brand, including white papers, website copy, and more.
  • Distribute press releases for new product launches, dispensary openings, community relations activations, and more.
  • Coordinate media interviews, speaking engagements and help prepare briefing documents for executives
  • Ensures that the communication promotes and protects the organization’s reputation and underscores its authentic commitment to quality products, innovation, and responsible growth.
  • Drives proactive and reactive media relations with reporters covering the cannabis space.
  • Works with different departments to generate new ideas and strategies for earned coverage, and serves as an advisor for identifying the news angle within marketing and product milestones.
  • Works closely with communications leadership and the executive team to manage crises communications/conflict situations.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Passion for and knowledge about Cannabis.
  • Minimum of 2 years of consumer communications experience with a focus on social community management and content creation.
  • Minimum of 2 years of public relations experience working on building awareness through traditional public relations outreach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional copywriting and copy-editing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Experience navigating a strongly regulated environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position.
