Job Description:
- The Laboratory Director is responsible for the daily operations of the analytical staff, including managing the analytical lab and supporting staff, reporting COAs, leading method development and validations, and maintenance of lab licensing including ISO 17025, local/state, and FDA guidelines.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provides clients with excellent customer service, responds to all modes of customer communication with a sense of urgency and helpfulness, records pertinent details, and takes ownership of problems, and follows up on required actions.
- Ensures results are reported within deadlines established.
- Ensure system suitability checks, preventive maintenance, and oversees calibration analytical instrumentation including GC/FID, GC/MS, LC/MS/MS, ICP-MS, etc.
- Leads the external/internal audits.
- Continuously develops and improves analysis procedures and production systems.
- Provides periodic lab analytics and reporting to upper management.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Must hold a Ph.D. and/or Master’s degree in natural sciences and have at least 3-5 years of laboratory experience in analytical chemistry, with at least one year in leadership.
- Must have excellent written, verbal communication, and customer support skills.
- Excellent understanding of BCC and other state regulations.
- Must have prior supervisory experience and strong leadership skills.
- Extensive experience and knowledge working with PCR and analytical instruments such as ICP/MS, HPLC, GC, GC/MS, and/or LC/MS/MS instrumentation and troubleshooting when required.
- Experience with ISO/IEC 17025.
- Able to work nights and weekends – overtime.
- Must have cannabis lab experience.
- Travel as needed.
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
- Master’s degree in chemistry or related field.
- Highly experienced working with Agilent analytical instrumentation.
- Experience with different LIMS.
- Excellent people skills.
Pay: From $Salary, dependent on education, experience, and skills. Benefits, waiting period may apply. per Hour
