JOB TITLE:
- Assistant Grower
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for working alongside the Head Grower and assisting with growing and caring for all marijuana plants.
- Assist/complete all the tasks in all areas of cultivation of cannabis including but not limited to cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, pruning, irrigation, harvesting, waste disposal, and inventory management.
- Collaborate closely with Head Grower on a daily basis.
- Uphold plant scheduling and organization.
- Manage the growing environment for optimal plant growth through irrigation, temperature, climate, and pest & disease control systems in accordance with grower instructions.
- Track labor efficiency and suggest appropriate changes in labor crew to meet company goals.
- Ensure all safety policies are followed and enforced and ensure strict crop growing practices are followed and enforced.
- Assist Head Grower in establishing and maintaining a program to record crop growth data (weekly crop report, climate report, maturation report, production, etc.).
- Maintain strain and phenotype data to assist with cultivation decisions.
- Coordinate planting activities with Operations Department.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Head Grower.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 year of commercial cultivation experience.
- 3-5 years of cannabis grow/industry experience.
- Basic understanding of METRC and MED guidelines.
- Competency in the use of climate computer controls.
- Knowledge of the entire cannabis growth cycle and requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be 21 years old.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the marijuana industry.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to work in conditions typically found in a greenhouse with high humidity and varying temperatures, with a fair amount of moisture present.
- Ability to exert up to 15-50 pounds occasionally to lift and move product.
- Ability to balance, and reach grasp while climbing on a step stool and/ or ladder.
- Ability to crouch, grasp and lift product above shoulders to lift product from the floor properly.
- Ability to be on foot while performing job responsibilities.
