JOB TITLE:
- Cultivation Associate
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cultivate the highest quality medical and adult-use cannabis following standard operating procedures.
- Clone, transplant, and maintain healthy plants through vegetative and flowering stages.
- Adhere to biosecurity measures to prevent cross-contamination.
- Monitors growing conditions and reviews changes in humidity, moisture, temperature, and cultivation procedures to ensure conformance with quality control standards.
- Inspects crops to ascertain conditions such as leaf texture, bloom size, and the existence of pests or diseases; removes substandard or diseased plants to maintain quality standards.
- Ensure that the cultivation’s electronic tracking system is maintained and operated properly.
- Troubleshoot and manage discrepancies within the inventory tracking system.
- Perform weekly audits to ensure constant accuracy of plant counts and locations.
- Operating and maintaining cultivation systems/equipment: monitoring, calibrating, running, and maintaining lighting, irrigation, climate control, and other cultivation systems; stocking and handling production inputs and supplies; sanitizing and cleaning growing areas, cultivation workspaces, and tools.
- Follow proper plant pruning, moving, trellising harvesting, trimming, drying, and curing processes and protocols according to company guidelines.
- Assist in other duties as assigned to ensure the team, department, and company division maintain success.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum High School or G.E.D equivalent required.
- A degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or Plant Science field is desirable.
- Knowledgeable about cannabis: growth phases, potential contaminants, genetics, laws, medicinal values, culture, and trends of the industry.
- Relevant experience, training, or education, such as professional experience in a nursery setting or other related work.
- Experience in the horticulture or agriculture industry.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature control, airflow, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of organic cultivation methods.
- Knowledge of plant diseases, insects, fungi, and plant treatment options.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Good documentation, inventory, and organization skills.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass any and all required background checks.
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds consistently,
- Exposed to heat and cold and internal temperature changes; exposed to outside working environments.
