JOB TITLE:
- Distillation Technician
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of sophisticated equipment for conversion of the extracted cannabis material into high-quality cannabis products for ingestion, inhalation, or topical application.
- Follows established procedures to refine crude cannabis oils to ensure the purity of the final product.
- Runs post-processing equipment like rotary evaporators, vacuum ovens, wiped film distillation units, and more.
- Perform distillation, decarboxylation, and filtration, along with maintenance of post-processing equipment.
- Maintain the accurate inventory of all raw materials, finished products, and by-products of the cannabis manufacturing process.
- Reporting all quality control issues in input material to the Extractor they will be accompanied by.
- Cleans and maintains all distillation equipment.
- Updates METRC (regulatory Cannabis System).
- Follow appropriate control measures to prevent mixing of dissimilar production components while following Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Stay up to date with cutting-edge purification and distillation techniques through various digital and print media.
- Ensure compliance and accuracy involving all product tracking, product security, and product movement procedures.
- Execute tests on required analytical equipment.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D at a minimum.
- Experience with Distillation Equipment.
- Willingness to learn and improve each operation.
- Strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- An appetite to gain a thorough understanding of extracted, distilled oils and production techniques is a must, with obsession over maximizing yield, machine production efficiency, and quality of output.
- Proven experience in manufacturing or laboratory environments in the food or pharmaceutical industries.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
