JOB TITLE:
- Kitchen Assistant
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the kitchen.
- Assist with preparing and baking cannabis edibles and other products.
- Storing supplies and disposal of waste according to guidelines.
- Adhere to all safety policies and wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required/necessary.
- Assist in packaging and labeling all finished products.
- Effectively follows procedures for food preparations, production, packaging, and controls.
- Works with the kitchen team with hands-on tactics while following production processes and schedules.
- Works with Processing and Packaging to prepare and package products according to the company’s internal schedule and within food safety standards and regulations.
- Cleaning kitchen utensils and equipment to comply with sanitation standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong organizational skills are mandatory; required to turn out large quantities of product under tight time constraints.
- Excellent math or computer skills to calculate recipes and to produce the correct quantity of finished product.
- Experience cooking with cannabis is preferred but not required.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow written instructions and procedures.
- Good organizational skills to maintain the highest level of productivity.
- Recognize time constraints and effectively execute fulfilling market demand in a timely manner.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass any and all required background checks.
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time on hard surfaces
- Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, along with frequent bending.
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, and work with fingers.
