JOB TITLE:

  • Micropropagation Manager

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary duties include protocol development, implementation, scheduling, and production coordination of cultivars through micropropagation with the laboratory director and operations manager.
  • Secondary duties include ordering of consumables that are related to laboratory function and testing.
  • Create, develop, and utilize resources to provide training to assistant managers.
  • Motivate the team by creating daily goals, rewarding staff, or providing constructive feedback based on achievements.
  • Implement and enforce SOPs, methods, policies, and objectives to advance micropropagation, and ensure continuing operations to increase productivity and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and maintain quality control measures in accordance with state and local laws.
  • Adhere to enforce company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment within the facility and production areas.
  • Work within the company’s continuous improvement system and strive to increase productivity.
  • Regularly clean and sanitize propagation equipment, tools, and work areas, including trimming machines, containers, and workstations.
  • Provide support to additional cultivation, harvest, and production teams as needed to achieve facility production goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Micropropagation experience is required.
  • Horticulture, Plant biotech, tissue culture, and aseptic technique experience.
  • Previous experience in a regulated production facility (food, beverage, CPG, etc.) is preferred.
  • 1 year of Management experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective time management and multitasking skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and able to successfully register with the state’s cannabis commission as an agent.
  • Must comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, and position objects, tools, or controls. 
  • The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 25 lb. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.
