JOB TITLE:

  • Pharmacy Technician

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintaining pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipts, and removing outdated products.
  • Recording medical information while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Delivering quality customer service to patients, responding to inquiries, questions, or requests, and referring them to the pharmacist for medical information.
  • Verifying the accuracy of patient information.
  • Assist Pharmacists to prepare cannabis for dispensing, typing, and attaching medication labels.
  • Answering phones and validating & entering patient orders and other information with accuracy.
  • POS experience including accurate daily cash and debit handling procedures.
  • Ring out patient sales orders with professionalism and accuracy as well as answer various questions and/or provide information.
  • Resolving patient problems or issues in a courteous manner with the ability to diffuse a stressful situation and make appropriate decisions.
  • Complying with standard operating procedures and State regulations as well as adhering to patient confidentiality (HIPPA) laws and Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that the dispensary is clean and well-organized at all times.
  • Educating customers on the safe use of their selected cannabis products.
  • Correctly weigh, packaging, and labeling cannabis products as required.
  • Checking customers’ identification documents to verify that they are of legal age.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and strains in the store, as well as industry-wide product knowledge.
  • Assist the Pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the State Labels products appropriately.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least one year of experience working as a pharmacy technician.
  • Certification as CPhT through either the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, Point of Sale software, and cash management.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Prolonged standing, repetitive bending, climbing, and lifting or moving up to 10 pounds (or more with a coworker). 
  • Good visual acuity, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and the ability to perform repetitive motions with accuracy are required. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
