JOB TITLE:
- Compliance Manager
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure accurate observance of all applicable Federal, State, and City laws, ordinances, regulations, etc.
- Develop processes and procedures to ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety regulations.
- Keep up with regularly changing rules and regulations and ensure understanding and implementation throughout the company.
- Collaborate with Legal and HR to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations.
- Establishing open communication with state and local regulators.
- Assess and audit dispensary inventory to prevent any product loss.
- Coordinate Quality, Compliance, and Safety training and coaching site-wide and provide guidance with compliance and regulatory topics.
- Implement and enforce cGMP principles.
- Remaining abreast of new or amended regulations and laws related to the cannabis industry and AML/CTF regulation, and analyzing their potential impact on the Company’s business.
- Investigate, document, and respond to all compliance concerns, warnings, etc. issued by relevant authorities.
- Confirm that all new packaging and labeling are compliant prior to distribution.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience as a Compliance Officer or Compliance Manager or relevant work experience.
- Expert knowledge of state cannabis regulations.
- Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards.
- Strong attention to detail and must have a team-player mentality.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Strong decision-making, analytical, and investigative abilities.
- Proficient with all Microsoft applications.
- SQF, ISO, GMP, ASQ, HACCP, or similar certification experience preferred.
- Ability to deliver specific organizational goals and effectively develop, grow, and manage a team to achieve objectives.
- Must have a solid understanding of the Medical Marijuana laws, rules, and regulations and a passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.
- Proficiency in METRC or equivalent.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Prolonged sitting/standing, bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Occasionally move packages weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Visual acuity is needed for viewing screens and fine print.
- Capable of transporting related supplies and equipment.
