JOB TITLE:
- Director of Cultivation
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must oversee the cultivation procedures and nutrient protocols, keeping accurate records and presenting the results in a timely manner to the appropriate executives.
- Ensure that the Cultivation Department is compliant with all State and Federal regulations.
- Ensure post-harvest work areas are clean and maintained in accordance with the company’s standard operating procedures, and motivate the cultivation staff to meet performance targets.
- Schedule preventative maintenance to ensure the highest quality yields without loss to fungus, disease, mold, etc.
- Maintain a clean and organized cultivation center with a proper inventory of all cultivation supplies.
- Responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling staff through all processes including cloning, transplanting, topping, defoliating, trimming, packaging, etc.
- Track and catalog each strain from seed to flower to harvest.
- Comprehensive knowledge of strains including Sativa, Indica, and Hybrids and understanding of the medicinal implementation and effects of strains.
- Execute preventative maintenance to eliminate mold, powdery mildew, spider mites, root aphids, fungus gnats, and other pests.
- Remain up to date on continuing education, and new or emerging technologies that may help to better increase the output or efficiency of the cultivation facility.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
- Expertise and knowledge of cannabis-specific nutrients, soil, and grow mediums.
- Up-to-date and advanced knowledge of cannabis plant growing techniques, new strains, and genetics.
- Associate’s degree or higher in horticulture, plant and soil sciences, or relevant agricultural experience or scientific experience related to the cultivation of medicinal cannabis.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Well-organized and attention to detail is a must.
- Knowledge of crop management and commercial agriculture.
- Strong process management skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Extended time standing, sitting, walking, bending, and reaching
- A close visual focus is required.
- Extended and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects.
- Stand for extended periods, lifting objects regularly, and daily repetitive tasks.
