JOB TITLE:
- Edibles Chef
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for creating cannabis-infused food and drink products to be sold at dispensaries for medical or recreational consumption.
- Prepare all edibles in a consistent, sanitary, and timely manner.
- Strictly follow department SOPs, Batch Records, logs, and associated Forms/Documents.
- Follow all GMP, HACCP, and Q/A processes in the facility.
- Maintain relevant training as new products are introduced.
- Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen.
- Utilize a variety of kitchen and production equipment, as well as assist with the upkeep of said equipment.
- Communicate supply needs with the Kitchen Supervisor.
- Operating PH meter to monitor acidity levels of gummy production.
- Test humidity with humidity readers, log temperature and RH, and monitor daily.
- Checking in and receiving all raw products and ensuring dates and quality are acceptable.
- Deliver production goals in a timely and efficient manner, while focusing on safety and quality.
- Develop, refine, and validate production methods for new products.
- Keep an organized record of all procedures and results.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must pass all required background checks.
- Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
- Previous experience working with cannabis products is preferred.
- Knowledgeable about state and local legislation that regulates the processing of medical and recreational edible products, licensing requirements, and packaging rules.
- Should have relevant professional kitchen and cooking experience.
- Basic understanding and knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all equipment in the kitchen.
- Familiarity with food stability and testing protocols.
- Knowledge of food additives, preservatives, and flavorings.
- Passionate about cannabis.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand on feet for long hours.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
