JOB TITLE:
- Harvester
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow Standard Operating procedures for harvesting, bucking, trimming, drying, and curing cannabis harvests in preparation for oil extraction and/or flower sales.
- Responsible for taking down, trimming, and bucking the plants as requested.
- Participating in the cannabis harvest process including offloading, harvesting, sanitizing and reloading flower rooms, milling, and destruction of cannabis waste.
- Harvesting and drying wet cannabis plants.
- Accurately weigh and record post-harvest materials and manage cultivation waste.
- Implements basic growing principles including cloning, pruning, topping, trimming, mixing soils and growing mediums, transplanting, watering, pruning, and physically moving plants.
- Organizes and maintains a clean work environment and complies with all health and safety standards established by the State.
- Protects the quality of the product at all times.
- Recognizes contamination – pests, seeds, dirt, mildew, etc – and handles them properly.
- Follow compliance guidelines and green waste requirements.
- Accounts for unusable waste for each by-product type processed off the flower; tracks and classifies stems and fan leaves as waste.
- Prepares harvested flowers to be sold in designated medical dispensaries and cannabis retail locations.
- Plant care during the vegetative and flowering phase: trimming, manipulating, and staking; big leafing and pruning; watering; plant monitoring; inventory data input.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
- Must pass any and all required background checks.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D minimum.
- Experience with cannabis cultivation, harvesting, and trimming.
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
- Have a basic understanding of the cannabis laws, rules, and regulations set forth by the state
- Previous experience in a hands-on environment with high attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to a changing industry and an expanding organization, and is open to new ideas and change.
- Must be able to adapt to various strains, styles, and types of cannabis being trimmed, adjusting techniques to maintain a steady pace and quality.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and innovative.
- Ability to focus on a task for long periods of time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to speak, hear, see, read, write, type, dial, reach, and bend.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk long distances for extended periods of time.
- Exposure to high/low temperatures.
