JOB TITLE:

  • HVAC Technician

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learning and mastering climate control software (Priva) to support healthy plant life and optimize systems to improve yields.
  • Studying building schematics and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
  • Diagnosing root causes of equipment breakdowns, testing parts with appropriate instruments, disassembling and assembling parts, and making necessary repairs.
  • Repairs and maintains all HVAC equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, fan coil units, splits systems, rooftop units, exhaust fans, heating water and chilled water pumps, and related systems.
  • Prepares materials lists and performs tasks to ensure completion of the work in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Operates hand and power tools, maintenance equipment, snow removal equipment, company vehicles, scissor/ bucket lifts, and/or other heavy equipment as needed.
  • Utilizing and creating reports using BAS system data to maximize equipment efficiency.
  • Responding to automated fault detection systems and providing advice or directly support corrective measures.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Journeyman Red Seal HVAC certification.
  • College diploma in HVAC or related disciplines.
  • Experience with climate control methods balancing humidity, temperature, and air quality challenged by constant changing external conditions.
  • Proficiency with reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with CMMS software such as FIIX, DIMO, or EMAINT would be an asset.
  • Ability to establish excellent business relationships with key suppliers, business associates, and stakeholders and start up new general systems in cooperation with vendors.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must be available for on-call/overtime and adhere to safety practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of a wide variety of filter mediums; experience with industrial boilers is considered an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and use time effectively in order to set action plans to achieve various business targets.
  • Must understand what’s needed to create a healthy cannabis growing environment.
