JOB TITLE:

  • Laboratory Analyst

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze samples consisting of a variety of matrices using traditional laboratory technologies including, but not limited to, HPLC, GC/MS, LC/MS, and ICP/MS.
  • Prepare samples for analysis while displaying good laboratory techniques to avoid cross-contamination or misidentified samples.
  • Accurately prepare calibration curves and quality control samples.
  • Assist in training new analysts on the laboratory procedure.
  • Acquires and analyzes data used to perform and report analytical laboratory testing of cannabis products.
  • Assists with the validation of test methods and with Research and Development (R&D) related activities.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and calibrations as required.
  • Manage inventory supplies and alert supervisors in advance when materials must be ordered.
  • Provides guidance and support for all duties commonly assigned to Field Samplers and Lab Technicians.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related field.
  • ISO 17025 experience (preferred).
  • Familiar with Metrc Software is a plus.
  • At least 3 years of laboratory experience in a regulated or high throughput laboratory environment is preferred.
  • Must have experience in cannabis testing, USA, FDA, EPA, NELAC, or other regulatory bodies.
  • Knowledge of principles, terminology, practices, techniques, and equipment commonly used in the cultivation, manufacturing, or production of cannabis or cannabis products.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong understanding of standard laboratory protocol.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work, problem solve, and communicate with multiple levels of the organization.

  • Be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath.
  • Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out.
  • Coordinate movement of several parts of the body, such as arms and legs, while the body is moving.
  • Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects.
