JOB TITLE:

  • Maintenance Electrician

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for installing and repairing complex electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems working from a technical blueprint.
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components.
  • Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning.
  • Complete required documentation of repairs and service information.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts.
  • Plans lay out, installs, and assembles materials and fixtures as required by the scope of work.
  • Troubleshooting system failures. 
  • Identify faults and hazards.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience. An Associate’s Degree is strongly preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair
  • A Journeyman Electrician license is required in the state of practice.
  • Strong knowledge of trades- HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, tile, miscellaneous repairs, and maintenance or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of regulatory codes and requirements such as the National Electric Code.
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment
  • Knowledge of the application and use of testing equipment utilized in checking, testing, and analyzing electrical systems such as Volt-Ammeters, Voltage testers, Phase and Rotation testers, Multimeters, etc.
  • Ability to apply electrical formulas and conversion tables to job requirements.
  • Skilled in interpreting schematic drawings, charts, and technical instructions.
  • High-level problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
  • Must be able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater).
