JOB TITLE:

  • Post Harvest Technician

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the physical harvest and associated plant transfer to the drying rooms, as well as trimming, quality control, and packaging of final product.
  • Responsible for batch inventory and any associated reconciliation.
  • Prepare harvested plants for the drying process.
  • Precisely hand trim dried flowers with scissors both efficiently as well with great attention to detail.
  • Remove the instructed amount of waterleaf, sugar leaf, and stems without damaging the structure of the flower.
  • Participate in training and follow work instructions to create a consistent high-quality finished product.
  • Maintain and promote a positive work environment through collaborative discussions, team communications, rigorous root cause analysis, and transparent decision-making.
  • Maintain compliant operation of all work instructions, SOPs, Change Requests, etc. for the post-harvesting area.
  • Help draft and update procedures relating to regulatory, training, quality, and compliance for post-harvesting.
  • Coordinate scheduling of all harvest/post-harvesting rooms and optimal asset utilization.
  • Establish manpower requirements to meet schedules.
  • Ensure the post-harvesting areas and adjacent facilities are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe manner. 
  • Lead 5S initiatives.
  • Ensure accuracy and traceability of trimming data by carefully collecting all plant material into its designated container with the associated METRC plant tag, after each plant is trimmed.
  • Collect all related non-resinous components to be weighed and recorded as aggregated waste per the associated harvest batch after all plants designated to that specific harvest batch are harvested.
  • Perform daily balance checks and calibrations, and confidently calculate Tare-Weight Gross-Weight.
  • Understand and follow all safety protocols, compliance, and SOPs.
  • Adhere to company standards including maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism.
  • All other job duties as assigned by management.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years experience within the Cannabis harvest/post-harvest areas
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of base strains Sativa, Indica, and knowledge of therapeutic effects of strains and types of medicinal administration
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced growing work environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, positive, enthusiastic, and eager to learn. 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must pass any and all required background checks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater).
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions.
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise).
