JOB TITLE:

  • Propagation Technician

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems.
  • Visually inspect all plants for pests and perform spot checks for microscopic pests.
  • Ensure overall plant health by watering, fertilizing, pruning, and trimming according to industry best practices and as directed by the Director of Cultivation and in accordance with clone and veg SOPs.
  • Monitor plants throughout the grow process for disease and pest infestations; monitor and maintain environmental controls and communicate concerns to the appropriate parties.
  • Support the organizing and securing of all METRC tags.
  • Manicuring and defoliating plants to maintain health and optimize yields.
  • Preparing and loading tables as necessary. Ensuring the accurate scanning of METRC tags for newly loaded plants.
  • Quarantine and treat plants received from outside sources, often preparing a storage location.
  • Collect data of clones made, plants transferred, and any inventory changes and report them in trellis accordingly.
  • Directs and coordinates worker activities such as planting, irrigation, plant manipulation, and enforcing sterile practices.
  • Ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Use required PPE per OSHA regulations.
  • Follow all General Agricultural Practices, General Handling Practices, and Good Manufacturing Practices.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a greenhouse environment.
  • Ability to understand and complete basic algebra.
  • Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office).
  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to consistently meet productivity and performance requirements.
  • Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass all background checks and licensing requirements as set forth by the state.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to work in conditions typically found in a greenhouse with high humidity and varying temperatures, with a fair amount of moisture present.
  • Ability to exert up to 15-50 pounds multiple times per shift.
  • Ability to balance, reach grasp while climbing on a step stool and/ or ladder.
  • Ability to crouch, grasp and lift product above shoulders in order to lift product from the floor properly.
  • Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time as job duties require.
  • Ability to use required tools to perform job duties.
