JOB TITLE:

  • Research Associate

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides research and development (R&D) analytical laboratory support.
  • Maintaining and updating sample and reagent inventories.
  • Performing sample preparation and/or extraction using manual, automated, or instrumental methods in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recognized methods.
  • Provide stability program testing support.
  • Receive sample deliveries from internal or external parties.
  • Review sample chain-of-custody or other paperwork and compare to samples received for correctness.
  • Transfer samples to appropriate custody refrigerators/freezers.
  • Dispose of aged, depleted, or expired samples.
  • Order and stock laboratory supplies (vials, syringes, filters, etc.) as needed.
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Maintain and promote clean work area(s).

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science field with 0-1 years of experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Ability to calculate figures such as proportions and work with mathematical concepts such as probability.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with manufacturing equipment and product deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must pass any and all required background checks.
  • Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, along with frequent bending.
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds with assistance.
