JOB TITLE:
- Research Associate
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides research and development (R&D) analytical laboratory support.
- Maintaining and updating sample and reagent inventories.
- Performing sample preparation and/or extraction using manual, automated, or instrumental methods in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recognized methods.
- Provide stability program testing support.
- Receive sample deliveries from internal or external parties.
- Review sample chain-of-custody or other paperwork and compare to samples received for correctness.
- Transfer samples to appropriate custody refrigerators/freezers.
- Dispose of aged, depleted, or expired samples.
- Order and stock laboratory supplies (vials, syringes, filters, etc.) as needed.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Maintain and promote clean work area(s).
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a science field with 0-1 years of experience in a laboratory setting.
- Ability to calculate figures such as proportions and work with mathematical concepts such as probability.
- Ability to work in a team environment with manufacturing equipment and product deadlines.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good problem-solving abilities.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass any and all required background checks.
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, along with frequent bending.
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds with assistance.
