JOB TITLE:

  • Security & Safety Specialist

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for performing security and safety functions for the cultivation and processing facility and providing critical security and administrative support to the Security Supervisor.
  • Authorizes and monitors facility access for employees, customers, vendors, and visitors by checking IDs, providing escorts, and answering initial customer questions.
  • Monitors front door access to maintain occupancy limits and provide crowd control.
  • Assists the Retail team with incident response, including de-escalation and conflict management.
  • Review surveillance video of events and create/maintain event logs from all security systems.
  • Conducts property and premises inspections; performs trash removal and ensures all entryways and outdoor cameras are clear of obstruction.
  • Monitors parking lot area to provide traffic control and makes sure no one under the age of 21yrs is on the premises.
  • Assists Retail with customer service responsibilities if needed.
  • Alert Security Supervisor for required support on all security systems—skyline cameras, Strat security/fire alarms, and internet connectivity.
  • Record retention and accountability.
  • Maintain an accurate digital copy of all logs.
  • Provide logs to management upon request.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Previous experience in a regulated field that adheres to health and safety policies and procedures preferred.
  • Previous security and/or law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to successfully register with the state’s cannabis commission as an agent.
  • Must be able to comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate, and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. 
  • The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 50 lb. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.
