JOB TITLE:
- Tissue Culture Lab Manager
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for executing methodologies for plant tissue culture to achieve production goals.
- Responsible for managing all lab techs and supervisors, maintaining accurate inventories, execute production plans, clean stock, and TC/R&D initiatives.
- Conduct and evaluate plant tissue culture daily activities for mass-scale tissue culture production.
- Provide technical guidance and implement laboratory protocols.
- Maintain tissue culture equipment maintenance/cleaning schedules.
- Responsible for hiring and training employees Perform tissue culture and micropropagation methodologies for mass-scale clone production.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of project data and other materials as needed, maintain inventory records and regulatory compliance.
- Provide technical guidance and implement laboratory protocols.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in plant science or related field.
- At least 5-10 years of previous experience in a commercial plant tissue culture lab in supervisor/management positions.
- Must have excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience with sterile technique, initiations, and new crop build-ups.
- Familiar with electronic inventory management.
- Exceptional computer skills. Able to manage and train several computer databases as well as MS Word and Excel.
- Tenacity and independent decision-making ability to make the proper decisions that will result in the achievement of company goals.
